The Opportunity

The Finance Management Program (FMP) is designed for top-talent and highly motivated college graduates with a desire to utilize their degree and further develop their leadership ability. The program provides an accelerated career opportunity, focused on developing the tools needed to be future leaders at Ally Financial, a leading diversified Fortune 500 financial services company (NYSE: ALLY).The program provides participants 4, 6-month rotational opportunities within a defined path and focuses candidates in areas across the CFO Group, including the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), Investor Relations, Treasury and Capital Markets, and Accounting Functions. Participants will gain experience in a variety of areas while working alongside highly-experienced professionals including MBAs, JDs, and CPAs.

The Work Itself

FMP offers four, 6-month rotational opportunities throughout the CFO Group. The CFO Group is comprised of various teams responsible for financial reporting and analysis, accounting, tax, strategy and planning, supply chain, and investor relations, as well as effectively managing the balance sheet, capital, and liquidity of the company. FMP roles and responsibilities have been designed to develop strategic finance core competencies, and an individual within FMP would be tasked with job responsibilities supporting these functions from an Analyst perspective.

Responsibilities will vary across each rotation. Analysts in the program will have customized career paths with rotations developed to provide a variety of responsibilities and exposure to different tools, routines, technology systems, and leaders. Throughout the program, potential responsibilities include:

  • Produce financial reports and key metrics utilizing Excel, PowerBI and various technology/tools
  • Perform financial analysis and variance analysis for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting routines
  • Support the budgeting and financial planning process for Ally’s business lines, such as Auto, Insurance, Ally Invest, and Ally Home.
  • Produce month-end reconciliations and journal entries using OneStream/SAP
  • Consolidate and present forecast output
  • Develop presentations and dashboard reports for senior leaders and business partners
  • Collaborate with internal partners
  • Support ad hoc projects, process improvements and documentation maintenance

The Skills You Bring

  • Seniors or post-graduate students pursuing an undergraduate degree (graduating between July 2025 and June 2026)
  • Majoring in a relevant field of study, such as Finance (or taking Finance courses) preferred
  • Experience in Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI or Tableau preferred
  • Previous internship experience, extracurricular activities, and leadership experience is preferred
  • Demonstrate a combination of academic aptitude, quantitative skills, intrinsic motivation, creative problem solving and advanced oral and written communication skills
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship from the company

Base Pay Rate: $72,000 USD
