Job Description: Duties:

  • Operate CNC machinery (e.g. Blanchard grinder) for optical manufacturing
  • Use mechanical and/or optical measuring equipment (calipers, drop gages, autocollimators and/or other related test equipment)
  • Use of computer-automated test systems and entering results
  • Perform alignment and setup of parts per instructions and/or active measurement
  • Follow written instructions to perform mechanically complex tasks.
  • Use of hand tools and mechanical fixturing for mechanical assembly.
  • Familiar working with optical components like mirrors and prisms.
  • Perform cleaning of optical components using approved solvents

Skills:

  • Minimum 2- 5 years experience in manufacturing using CNC equipment
  • Willing to assist to help develop optical manufacturing process with feedback to engineers.
  • Experience operating CNC equipment.
  • Experience operating metrology test systems.
  • Excellent teamwork is a must.
  • Very good hand to eye coordination.
  • Demonstrate understanding of basic optical principles.
  • Must read and follow written and verbal work instructions precisely and communicate effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills a must.
  • Intermediate mathematical skills including use of basic math and geometry.
  • Excellent manual dexterity.
  • Computer skills for basic MS Office software required, specifically Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Pay: $43.71 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
