Position Overview

The Creative Marketing & Social Media Specialist is responsible for supporting and enhancing the organization’s brand presence through social media management, graphic design, content creation, and marketing initiatives. This role works closely with leadership to create engaging content, promote programs and events, strengthen community awareness, and support fundraising and partnership efforts.

The ideal candidate is creative, highly organized, proactive, and experienced in digital marketing, visual storytelling, and brand management.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media & Digital Marketing

  • Manage and grow the organization’s social media platforms
  • Create and schedule engaging content across multiple channels
  • Develop social media campaigns to support programs, fundraising events, partnerships, and community engagement
  • Monitor engagement and respond to messages/comments as appropriate
  • Track analytics and provide recommendations for growth and engagement

Graphic Design & Content Creation

  • Design marketing materials including flyers, social graphics, event materials, brochures, presentations, signage, and promotional items
  • Ensure brand consistency across all platforms and materials
  • Create photo, video, and visual content for digital and print use
  • Assist with storytelling initiatives that highlight participant success stories, donors, volunteers, and organizational impact

Marketing & Communications Support

  • Assist with email marketing campaigns and newsletters
  • Support promotion of fundraising events, programs, and community partnerships
  • Coordinate marketing needs for events and mobile pop-ups
  • Maintain marketing calendars and campaign timelines
  • Assist with website updates and digital content management

Collaboration & Strategy

  • Collaborate with leadership on marketing strategy and organizational messaging
  • Help identify opportunities to expand community awareness and audience engagement
  • Support fundraising and development initiatives through creative marketing efforts
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Experience in marketing, communications, graphic design, or social media management
  • Proficiency in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design platforms
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and trends
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Photography and video editing experience preferred
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently

Position Details

  • Status: Full-time (40 hours/week), in-person
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday (hours as agreed upon), with occasional evenings and weekends
  • Location: 2073 E. Santa Fe, Olathe, KS, and offsite events as assigned
