Desk Nurse (Medical Assistant) – Dermatology

Position Overview:

Lockhart Matter Dermatology is seeking a highly capable Desk Nurse (Medical Assistant) to serve as a key point of contact for our patients and providers. This role is critical to maintaining smooth clinic operations and delivering an exceptional patient experience.

We are looking for a strong, confident, and tech-savvy candidate who can manage high call volume, handle complex patient interactions, and support clinical needs when necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and triage all incoming patient calls, including high-volume and complex/difficult situations

  • Provide accurate information, guidance, and follow-up to patients

  • Communicate effectively with providers regarding patient concerns

  • Perform suture removals of all types

  • Assist with clinical tasks and fill in on the floor as needed

  • Coordinate scheduling needs and patient flow support
  • Assist with surgery scheduling
  • Document patient interactions accurately in EMR

  • Maintain professionalism and composure in a fast-paced environment

What We’re Looking For:

  • Dermatology experience required

  • Medical Assistant certification/experience required

  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize and stay organized in a high-volume setting

  • Strong multitasking and organizational abilities

  • Comfortable handling difficult patient conversations with professionalism

  • Technologically proficient (ModMed/EMA EMR, Klara systems, phone systems, multitasking across platforms)

  • Team-oriented with a positive, solution-focused mindset

  • Reliable and adaptable in a dynamic clinic setting

Work Environment:

  • In-office position (not remote)
