About The Role

Director, Network Engineering to lead the Technology team in Bethesda, MD. This role oversees enterprise-wide network engineering functions, including architecture, design, implementation, and operations across distributed environments. Responsible for spearheading long‑term network strategy, optimizing performance and scalability, and ensuring alignment with organizational growth, security, and customer experience objectives. This leader will ensure the delivery of secure, scalable, and high‑performing network services across all locations. The role reports to the VP of Information Security, Network & Operations.

You will

  • Spearhead the evolution of enterprise network and telephony infrastructure to support a rapidly growing, distributed business.
  • Optimize network performance, reliability, and scalability through continuous improvement and modernization initiatives.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of network services, including architecture, engineering, deployment, and ongoing operations.
  • Oversee high‑impact programs and ensure delivery of secure, resilient, and cost‑effective network solutions.
  • Direct the execution of enterprise network initiatives with significant organizational impact.
  • Drive strategic decisions by evaluating complex technical and business challenges, balancing risk, and recommending scalable solutions.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing insight on network strategy, risks, investments, and prioritization.

You will come with

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field required. Master’s Degree is preferred.
  • 10+ years progressive experience in network engineering, including enterprise‑scale environments.
  • 5–8 years leadership experience managing engineering teams and large‑scale infrastructure initiatives.
  • 7–10 years experience overseeing distributed networking environments, including retail, multi‑site, or hybrid cloud ecosystems preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of enterprise network architecture, design, and operations.
  • Deep expertise in Cisco and Meraki technologies, including wireless, switching, routing, and firewalls.
  • Strong understanding of WAN technologies, load balancing, SD‑WAN, and network segmentation.
  • Strategic planning and execution of large‑scale network initiatives.
  • Ability to drive decisions by analyzing complex technical and business challenges.
  • Strong leadership and team development capabilities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
  • Advanced problem‑solving and critical‑thinking abilities.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for executive audiences.
