Join our dynamic team as a Loan Processor/Operations Officer, where you will play a vital role in managing the loan processing workflow while ensuring the smooth operation of our office. You will be responsible for coordinating loan documentation, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and maintaining efficient operations procedures to foster a productive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and process loan applications, including gathering required documentation and verifying financial information.
  • Analyze credit reports, income, and debt-to-income ratios to determine loan eligibility and risk.
  • Manage loan origination activities, including preparing contracts, disclosures such as TILA (Truth in Lending Act) statements.
  • Make sound lending decisions in accordance with credit union policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Clearly explain loan terms, rates, and repayment schedules to members.
  • Maintain communication with members throughout the loan process. ensuring timely updates and follow-up.
  • Maintain detailed records of all transactions, contracts, and compliance documentation using 10-key typing skills and basic math for calculations.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance in all loan documentation and recordkeeping.
  • Assist in resolving member concerns or disputes regarding loans or credit.
  • Support daily branch operations, including transaction processing, account maintenance, and balancing tasks.
  • Support office operations by managing schedules, handling correspondence, and ensuring adherence to banking standards and policies.
  • Help resolve account issues, disputes, or concerns with accuracy and professionalism.
  • Oversee and manage both front office and back office operations, ensuring seamless coordination between member-facing services and internal administrative functions.
  • Supervise front office activities, including member interactions, scheduling, and service delivery to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Process member transactions accurately and efficiently, including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, transfers, and check cashing.
  • Perform account maintenance, including updates, corrections, and documentation verification.
  • Maintain and organize records, files, and confidential documents in accordance with retention policies.
  • Ensure adherence to security procedures, including dual control and access protocols.
  • Handle cash, balance cash drawers, and maintain proper cash limits in accordance with policies.
  • Balance and reconcile daily transactions, ensuring accuracy in end-of-day reporting.

Experience

  • Proven experience in loan processing within the financial services industry.
  • Strong understanding of FNMA guidelines, underwriting processes, and mortgage servicing procedures.
  • Excellent credit analysis skills combined with proficiency in basic math and 10-key typing for accurate data entry.
  • Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.   • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in lending or loan processing within the financial services industry.
  • No degree required; however, a degree in finance, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
