Position Objective:

The Regional Branch Operations Manager (East) provides support to AAF International branch locations, both tactical and strategic. This position is responsible for the oversight of three to five branches, with the site Branch Operations and Logistics Managers for each (and a limited number of hourly employees) reporting into this Regional role.


The Regional Branch Operations Manager (East) supports year-over-year improvements in sales growth, service improvements, inventory management and overall efficiency and productivity; collaborates with key stakeholders to improve processes that drive growth and profitability expansion; and supports the Branch Operations Managers on developing the necessary talent to build a distinctive, results-oriented branch/distributor operation.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Drive improved KPI results (key performance indicators) that drive improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost/profit.
  • Leverage best practices across all branch locations.
  • Responsible for implementing safety policies that create an incident free culture.
  • Maintain and adhere to all OSHA requirements.
  • Oversee a standardized cut/cap / custom filter process that improves safety, quality, delivery and cost.
  • Drive standardized inventory management process that eliminates inventory losses and maximizes inventory turns.
  • Integrate Branch locations into SIOP (Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning).
  • Implement systems and processes that improve delivery and shipping performance.
  • Facility improvements to drive exceptional performance in Service, monitor results via KPI’s to ensure accountability.
  • Assist with improving will-call business with focus on improving the customer experience.
  • Implement cost controls on operational supplies and outside purchases.
  • Work closely with the sales team to ensure sales goals are met and delivery performance is at or above 95%.
  • Regularly collaborate with key customers and suppliers to better execute VOC (Voice of Customer).
  • Deliver weekly financial tracker statistics.
  • Provide regular performance updates.
  • Maintain data to support regular budget planning and updates to meet corporate goals.
  • Develop, coach, and mentor employees within region – establish and maintain succession plans.
  • Translate corporate goals and objectives into local action plans and expectations.
  • Identify and execute new branch locations, distributor partnerships and sales territory alignment.

  1. Bachelor’s degree preferred in Operational / Business discipline;
  2. Six sigma certification preferred, not required;
  3. Project Management certification preferred, not required;
  4. Minimum 5-8 years in operations or distribution experience, prefer multi-site experience;
  5. Knowledge of ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, etc.);
  6. Must have a solid track record of cost reduction and productivity improvement;
  7. Experience and knowledge of SIOP processes;
  8. Proven and demonstrated history of driving continuous improvement to critical operational systems within the distribution;
  9. Experience implementing strategic initiatives;
  10. Excellent relationship skills and the ability to work cross functionally;
  11. Flexibility and adaptability;
  12. Ability to identify and implement best practice;
  13. Strong negotiations skills;
  14. Proven ability to manage, coach & develop people and strong Leadership potential or any combination of academic education, professional training, or work experience, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position;
  15. Solid analytical skills – able to define and understand the most critical issues and effectively identify root cause and utilize the PCDA process;
  16. Ability to work with minimal supervision;
  17. Experience in conflict resolution;
  18. Provide track record for implemented changes;
  19. Excellent presentation skills and ability to present to all levels of the organization;
  20. Understanding of OSHA guidelines / regulations.
