About the position

The State of New Hampshire Liquor Commission is seeking a full-time Retail Store Manager I for its Lebanon location. This position is crucial in providing exceptional customer service in a retail store environment, which includes managing register receipts, maintaining product merchandising, and reporting sales results. The Retail Store Manager I will be responsible for building a loyal customer base and enhancing customer relations, thereby contributing to the reputation of the NH Liquor Commission and the State of New Hampshire. In a low-volume retail environment, the Retail Store Manager I will supervise store personnel up to the Retail Store Clerk II level. In larger volume stores, this role will work under the general supervision of a Retail Store Manager II and assist in managing daily store operations, including opening and closing the store, setting up merchandising displays, making deposits, and taking inventory. The manager will also provide routine training and guidance to all store employees, ensuring they are equipped to perform their duties effectively. The position requires the manager to account for stock, maintain proper inventory levels, and anticipate sale items as necessary. The Retail Store Manager I will calculate sales transactions, prepare bank deposits, and review computer printouts to make recommendations to the Store Manager. This role also involves supervising and providing guidance to store personnel, filling in for a higher-level Store Manager when needed, and occasionally traveling to other store locations as assigned. Candidates must meet minimum qualifications, including a high school diploma or GED, and three years of experience in public contact work and retail, with at least one year in a supervisory role. A valid driver's license is required for travel between store locations. The position also entails physical demands, including frequent lifting of materials up to 25 pounds and cases of liquor weighing up to 60 pounds.
