<strong>Job Description<br><br></strong>As a Senior Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer here at Honeywell, you will provide technical expertise and support in the materials and process engineering of cast products.<br><br>As a Senior <strong>Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer</strong> here at Honeywell, you will provide technical expertise and support in the materials and process engineering of cast products. Work as part of a highly engaged and integrated Materials Engineering team. You will collaborate across Honeywell Aerospace engineering teams to create solutions and systems that meet the evolving needs of our customers. You will participate in all phases of product development and will be a technical point of contact for less experienced engineers.<br><br>You will report directly to our Senior Engineering Manager, and you’ll work out of our Torrance, CA location on a Hybrid work schedule.<br><br>This Materials Engineering position will provide support for new and existing cast products including aerospace gas turbine engines used for propulsion and auxiliary power. Primary responsibilities include support for materials and processes involved in the design and manufacture of cast parts, as well as regular interaction with suppliers to help resolve issues. Help to build a strong, diverse team by recruiting talent, identifying, and developing successors, driving retention and engagement, and fostering an inclusive culture.<br><br><strong>Responsibilities<br><br></strong><strong>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES<br><br></strong><ul><li> Work between suppliers and Honeywell Engineering, Quality, Supplier Development Engineers (SDE), and Integrated Supply Chain (ISC). </li><li> Troubleshoot material and process issues, and providing technical solutions for rapid problem solving. </li><li> Internal engineering support for casting development, drawing reviews and process improvements. <br><br></li></ul><strong>Qualifications<br><br></strong><strong>YOU MUST HAVE<br><br></strong><ul><li> Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics. </li><li> 4 or more years of experience in materials/process engineering in the casting industry. </li><li> 4 or more years experience with nickel, aluminum, steel, and/or titanium aerospace cast alloys <br><br></li></ul><strong>WE VALUE<br><br></strong><ul><li> Bachelor’s Degree with specialization in Materials Science, Material Engineering, Metallurgy, Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering</li><li> Advanced degree in engineering or another related field a plus</li><li> Understanding and hands-on experience in casting (Investment/sand casting production processes are a plus)</li><li> Familiarity with industrial materials and processing specifications</li><li> Familiarity with Nadcap and industry standards, requirements and approvals</li><li> Capable of assessing new suppliers and determining their strengths and weaknesses</li><li> Experience with conducting casting supplier audits (investment castings, and sand casting audits are a plus)</li><li> Working with and developing suppliers</li><li> Working with Design Engineering</li><li> Understanding engineering drawings and requirements</li><li> Experience in Six Sigma, Lean and other process improvement tools<br><br></li></ul><strong>About Honeywell<br><br></strong>Honeywell International Inc. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
