Job Summary

This role, reporting to the CMO, AP Marketing, will lead the AP Experiential, Sponsorships and Partnerships team, managing Visa’s relationship with notable brands, platforms and assets across passion pillars such as Gaming, Tech, Music, Fashion, Travel and Lifestyle. This role will be focused on building strong partnerships for the Visa AP business and requires day to day interaction with multiple stake holders both internally and externally, including clients.

This motivated professional will become a recognized face and the expert across the Visa business both internally and externally. The scope of work includes partnering a broad team of Visa stakeholders, agency partners, and clients in the management and implementation of Visa’ rights annually and serving as a champion of these assets and how to best leverage and activate the partnership. A priority for this role is driving tangible and quantifiable outcomes in support of the overall business.

The SD will partner with teams in Global Sponsorship, as well as the regional teams in Consumer Solutions Marketing, B2B Marketing and especially Marketing Services, where commercialization of sponsorship assets is key. There will be accountability for meeting established ROI and marketing effectiveness measures across all areas.

Job Description & Responsibilities

Sponsorship Strategy & Development

  • Develop strategic vision for new and ongoing partnerships in Gaming, Tech, Music, Fashion, Travel and Lifestyle in AP that appeal to Gen Z, Affluent and Clients.
  • Lead sponsorship platform development, management and activation strategy
  • Work comfortably in a matrix organization where multiple Global, Regional and Local teams are stakeholders to activate the brand, platform and asset.
  • Drive client, product and activation strategies and asset allocation to maximize use of the platform
  • Drive financial efficiencies through contracting and commercialization

Governance and Planning:

  • Lead and manage all AP sponsorship approval processes – within Marketing and adjacent functions like GE and Comms.
  • Work closely with legal, risk and compliance teams to ensure contracts and terms of partnerships meet Visa's strict standards.
  • Manage deal flow, contracts and asset allocations.
  • Serve as the key contact for property rights usage management, activation and approvals
  • Work with Client Sponsorship Services team for commercialization and fulfillment
  • Project tracking of key deliverables.

Sponsorship Marketing and Experiential

  • Work collaboratively with Visa Design Studio on the development of all consumer and partner communications including but is not limited to: development of core creative idea, visual identity systems, promotions, digital strategy and plans including social media, on the ground activation at event time including the onsite activation, advertising, media strategy, etc.
  • Partner with client marketing teams on issuer & partner activation opportunities, such as, campaign development, communications, creative development and consumer experiences.
  • Partner with markets to create experiential events related to the activation of sponsorships and partnerships
  • Support project tracking, task forces, and ticketing as well as innovation initiatives
  • Lead executive communications and reporting

Qualifications

  • 15 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s degree
  • Knowledge and experience in negotiating and activating sponsorships with deep knowledge in any 1-2 of the passion pillar categories is essential, with aptitude to a lead a diverse team
  • Proven track record of driving revenue
  • Ability to travel locally and globally
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with client management and relationship experience preferred
  • Excellent project management and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365
