Job Summary

We are seeking enthusiastic, creative, and dependable Summer Camp Teachers to join our team for our exciting summer program running June 8 – July 31! In this role, you will help create a fun, engaging, and supportive environment where children can explore, build friendships, and enjoy meaningful summer experiences through play, creativity, outdoor activities, and hands-on learning.

This is a fantastic opportunity for educators, camp counselors, college students, or anyone passionate about working with children in a collaborative and community-focused setting.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety and supervision of children at all times through active engagement, regular headcounts, and consistent awareness of the group.
  • Set up and maintain clean, organized, and developmentally appropriate indoor and outdoor activity spaces.
  • Collaborate with fellow educators to plan and implement engaging summer activities, clubs, games, and projects that support children’s creativity, curiosity, and social-emotional growth.
  • Lead activities such as art projects, storytelling, dramatic play, movement games, outdoor play, walks, field trips, and other summer camp experiences.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers through respectful and effective communication.
  • Observe and support children’s social development, behavior, and overall well-being throughout the program.
  • Create an inclusive, welcoming environment that respects and celebrates diverse backgrounds, family structures, cultures, and abilities.
  • Participate in team meetings, trainings, and community events as needed.
  • Assist with daily opening and closing tasks including snack preparation, sanitizing tables, organizing materials, washing dishes, and maintaining classroom supplies.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working in an afterschool program, summer camp, childcare setting, or similar environment preferred.
  • Strong understanding of play-based learning and child-centered educational practices.
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated cultural competency and commitment to creating inclusive environments for children and families.
  • Comfortable using email and scheduling systems and able to communicate professionally in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work at a child’s level for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
Compensation & Benefits Compensation is based on experience. The hourly pay range is $20–$26 per hour.
