Employees receive evaluations periodically as the training progresses to ensure performance milestones are met and critical competencies are assessed. Employment as Traffic Painter and Sign Poster Trainees is limited to eighteen (18) months of on-the-job training, including painting and plasticizing parking and traffic control markings and installing and maintaining non-electric parking and traffic control signs. Upon successful completion of the on-the-job training program and receipt of a letter of recommendation from an employing City department, incumbents will receive an appointment to Traffic Painter and Sign Poster Assistant and begin a six-month probationary period.
