Following the winter season, we provide all employees equal opportunity to job vacancies.<br><br><strong>Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>G license and clean driving abstract/CVOR</li><li>Experience in snow and ice control along with knowledge of OTM Book 7</li><li>Knowledge of highway maintenance</li><li>Willingness to work in extreme weather conditions</li><li>Ability to work assigned shifts, and extended hours (evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays) as winter events require <br><br></li></ul><strong>Day in the Life<br><br></strong>Our Winter Patrollers are an integral member of our winter maintenance team. You will perform road maintenance activities on provincial highways, respond to emergency situations such as spills and accidents during inclement weather and assist in implementing an emergency plan, providing traffic control at accident scenes as per the contract requirements. When you are not on the road, it will be important to maintain accurate documentation such as fuel reports, safety reports and hours of service, as well as maintain and clean the equipment, conducting routine maintenance and minor repairs. You will familiarize yourself to make snow and ice control decisions during winter and initiate equipment and operator call outs, inspect patrols, and create deficient lists for the Foreperson, respond to public complaints, and operator a variety of equipment.<br><br>If you have a safety focused mindset and love to be on the road, this is the ideal role for you.
